About the HALO Initiative

We BELIEVE that a family’s ability to pay shouldn’t prevent their children from accessing better lives through one of our Catholic schools.
We BELIEVE that every school should have the resources to provide an excellent educational experience, no matter where they are located.
We BELIEVE our students can learn with innovative ways that can prepare them for our fast-changing world and our roles within it, with lessons that will matter the rest of their lives.

The HALO Initiative is a separate 501(c)(3) that partners with scholarship organizations to coordinate more than $1.9 million in direct, need-based tuition assistance each year to student across Dallas area Catholic schools. It also gathers and coordinates ideas, expertise, volunteers and other contributions with and for other organizations that support our Catholic schools.

Why is this important?
We’re dedicated to providing a path for students to get to college and Heaven.
In 2017, Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Dallas had a 10% higher graduation rate than public high schools in the state of Texas.*
In the Diocese of Dallas, the percentage of 2018 ACT-tested high school graduates showing readiness for college-level coursework was 33% higher than 2018 ACT-tested public high school graduates throughout the state of Texas.*
Educating the whole person results in adults who are driven by their values to become more involved and make their communities better.
